18 — Four and 1/2 Months Out

Wow.  It’s been way too long since I did an update.  I just re-read my last health update and realized how far I’ve come and thought many of my readers would like to know.

Things are great!  I feel so much better.  Truly…. almost completely back to normal.

I had a 3 month check up with my doctor on April 23.  I didn’t have too many concerns at the time as was thrilled with the progress my hair was making at the time.  I was also glad to have eyelashes back.  Though I never completely lost my lashes and eyebrows, they thinned out terribly the last few months of treatment.

So many things have happened since I last updated my blog.  My Mom passed away on March 4th.  That was a hard one.  She had kept saying she just wanted to die for the last several months.  It was becoming harder and harder for her to be very mobile without much help and it was really frustrating to her.  It’s hard to see your parents get old….. and frustrating for them that they can’t do the things they used to.  Though I miss her terribly bad…. I’m so grateful to know that she is in a better place and is no longer tied to her poor tired earthly body.  I’m grateful she’s with my Dad again and more grateful that I know that I will someday see them both again.

Not too long after my Mom passed away, my Mother in law ended up in the hospital with a bad case of Cellulitis in her leg.  She’s not been the type to EVER go to the doctor much, so it took an act of nature to get her to one, via the hospital.  It was quite an ordeal and a BIG adjustment for everyone in John’s family.  It took quite sometime for her to heal completely.  She still isn’t back to her normal self, but she is doing much better.

In the middle of all those things happening, we finally got around to remodeling our Master bath.  Once I started feeling a little better, I was able to ‘crack the whip’ and get my husband going on it.  🙂  We’ve had the tile for the remodel for about three years.  Once I decided we didn’t need to tear out the fiberglass shower, my husband was much more willing to get started on the project.  It’s a lot of work tearing out a shower and tiling a new one.  We decided since we want to sell the condo anyway, that it would be just fine with the shower the way it was.  Actually…. it looks pretty good.  I don’t mind that we didn’t tear it out after all.  I’m thrilled with the end product.  I just wish we would have done it a couple of years ago so I could enjoy it longer!

My health really is doing well.  My hair is growing in very nicely.  I’ve been without wigs or scarfs for about 3 weeks now.  It’s still shorter than I really feel comfortable with….but it’s so nice to let my head be ‘free’!!  I still wear hats on occasion, but mostly because I recently bought some really cute ones and they are really in style right now.  They keep the sun out of my eyes at the ballgames.

My biggest complaint is stiffness.  I seem to have stiff muscles after sitting for long periods of time.  I guess that’s still a normal side effect that might take a while to go away.  I still have some neuropathy in my toes, but other than that and achy joints, I’m doing well.  I suppose part of it can be from age…. but I keep hoping it will all get better!

My energy levels have increased dramatically.  I can actually do house work with out needing to sit down.  As I mentioned a minute ago…. we want to sell our condo and we have a ton of things to do before it’s even ready to list!  I’m glad I have the energy to get the condo ready to list…… but I’m on the prowl for a new place even so!

Since we want to buy and sell and I have a couple of friends wanting to buy this year, I decided to reinstate my Real Estate license so I can be a full service agent again.  I’ve had my license with a Referral agency for about three years.  I’m kind of excited to get going in it again.  As you can tell from some of my earlier posts…. I LOVE looking at houses.  Since I’m always talking about the Parade of Homes and such….. 🙂   I really do like looking at homes and seeing the potential and helping buyers find what they want.  I also love listing homes too.  I’ve taken classes on staging, so it’s fun to help clients stage their homes to sell.  It will be an adventure getting things going again, but I’m looking forward to it.  If I can help you or a friend, let me know!  That should tell you how much better I’m doing…. the fact that I’m taking that back on again says a lot!

I’m scheduled to have a CT scan the end of July.  I’ll come back and update you all on the results then, but I fully expect things to be wonderful in that aspect from here on out!

Life is grand!  I’m grateful to be here and grateful for what lies ahead!
